11/26/02 Due to the shifted homework due days, the next two weeks I will
have office hours:
T, 12/3 and 12/10: 8:30-9:30 in MSCC lab
W, 12/4 and 12/11: 9:00-10:00 in MSCC lab,
1:30-2:30 in GUG 408A
In preparation for the final, there will also be additional
office hours and a review session as the final approaches.
11/1/02 Monday 11/4 I will have office hours 3:30-4:30 in GUG 408A,
followed by a review session at 4:30 in GUG 410.
Tuesday 11/5 I will have office hours 9-10am and 4:30-5:30pm.

10/30/02 On 10/31 I will have office hours at MSCC from 1:30-2:30
instead of 9-10. The midterm will be Wednesday 11/6. There will be a
review session Monday afternoon.
10/25/02 Quiz 1 was given in class today. I realize if anyone is out
ill they may have missed both the quiz and turning in the homework.
If you are in this situation please contact me about turning in the homework
late.
10/19/02 I will be out of town October 22-24 and October 28-29
due to other professional obligations. The lectures on October 23 and 28
will be presented by Professor Adams. Mariana will be in the MSCC lab
9-10am on Thursday 10/24 during my usual office hours.
10/16/02 To make it easier to assign points, the homeworks will be
graded on the basis of 20 points from now on rather than 10.
The original HW1 scores will be multiplied by 2.
The exams will also be rescaled so the percentages are the same as
originally announced on the handout.

10/2/02. Check the Message Board for a note on using diary
to capture matlab for your homework assignment.
9/30/02. LeVeque will hold an orientation session in the MSCC lab
Communications B-027 this Thursday 10/3/02 from 12:30-1:20.
This will cover use of the PCs, matlab on the PCs, transferring files to
other machines, printing from the PCs, etc.
9/30/02. Another resource in the MSCC lab: Applied Math graduate
student Bela Frigyik will be a consultant in the lab each week
Mondays 2:30-3:30,
Wednesdays 2:30-4:30 and Thursdays 12:00-2:30. He can also help
with matlab questions.
