More AMath 383 Homework comments
For Problem 1, some are asking about what I mean by "Falling object". I
mean that the object is only moving in the vertical direction and that
the only forces are gravity and drag. It may actually start by moving
up, in spite of the word "falling."
Note that the characteristic velocity scales and the characteristic
time scale are all given explicitly in the lecture notes near Eq. 16.
You should identify where these scales appear in your solution.
For part (c), although it is in fact a differential equation, you
should simply apply the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. There isn't
really any work in solving the differential equation other than
integration.
