ScaLAPACK on Cray Computers. Jason Slemons Thursday 12:30, October 6. Guggenheim Library I will give a quick definition of Scalapack, a library of linear algebra routines, and then discuss the symmetric eigenproblem. The first step in finding the eigenvalues of a symmetric matrix is to tridiagonalize the matrix and this first step will be the primary focus of my talk. I will talk about the math behind how Scalapack does it, how its implimented, and how well this works in practice on Cray Machines.
