• April 4: Organizational meeting at 11:30 in Condon 301.
• April 11: Randy LeVeque will lead discussion of supraconvergence, based on
  • Sections 1 and 2 of Manteuffel and White paper
  • Section 1 of some old notes on accuracy of methods for the advection equation
• April 18: Kyle Mandli will lead a discussion on better bounds on global errors for ODE solvers. We will primarily discuss the material from two papers by Divakar Viswanath:
  • A Conditioning function for the convergence of numerical ODE solvers and Lyapunov's theory of stability
  • Global errors of numerical ODE solvers and Lyapunov's theory of stability

• April 25: Siva Sankrithi will lead a discussion of numerical analysis at the high school level, discussing topics currently covered in high school, topics that could possibly be incorporated, and computer programs and their usefulness/limitations in a high school environment.

• May 2: David Ketcheson - Strong stability preserving ODE solvers
