Title:

Control of an Underwater Vehicle

Time: 3:30 PM, Thursday, 12/02/04

Place: Guggenheim Room 408d

Abstract:

I will consider the equations of motion for an underwater vehicle and look at how to obtain information about the reachible operating conditions of the system. Specifically, I will talk about the dynamics of an ellipsoidal vehicle with a moveable internal mass. I will discuss my objectives of finding an optimal configuration of the moveable internal mass in order to obtain a desired trajectory of the entire vehicle using geometric techniques.
