Abstract.

The Streak Tube Imaging LIDAR (LIght Detection And Range system) or STIL system, is based on a pulsed laser transmitter and a time resolved streak tube receiver. This system provides point cloud data of the ocean bottom, and produces two sets of data: range and contrast. The level set method combined with active contour techniques is used in order to detect and extract objects from within this data. I will explain the physical and mathematical setup of the problem and show results from an implementation of the model.
