SIAMUW Seminars

Speaker: Roger Thelwell, Applied Mathematics

Title:

Adjoint's and ingredient recovery

Time: 3:30 PM, Thursday, 5/19/05

Place: Guggenheim Room 408d

Abstract:

I'll talk about a method to find D(u(x,t)) in the PDE given by $u_t - (D(u) u_x)_x = 0$ using adjoint techniques. THe method provides direct information about the inversion map. Numerical results will also be presented.
